Cairn // vol. 8: Hello 2018! Let's talk about goals.

So we flipped the calendar again. How about that? How's 2018 treating you? So far, my year has been busy, as I have unexpectedly had to devote time to taking care of a sick family member. I haven't just been ignoring everyone.

I want to take a minute and talk about goals. This year, my goals carry over from last year. I have had so many good clients since I started this adventure, and I've learned so much about my work. My main goal is to get more clients whom I will love in all three of my disciplines. So I have three goals, one for each discipline:

#1: WEDDINGS
I LOVE shooting weddings! Weddings are among my favorite kinds of photographic work to do. I actually really like the longer hours and being able to document the details of one of the most important days of your life. I love the details, from the quiet, intimate moments to those where all eyes are on you. People always say your wedding day is a blur. You remember how you feel, and you have your memories of the day, but you often miss the details. Your photos are what you will have to remind you of all the little things about your day that helped make it so beautiful. If you are engaged and are looking for a wedding photographer, have a look at my work and shoot me an email. I would be thrilled to capture your wedding day!

#2: BRANDING
If there were a design equivalent of shooting weddings it would be branding and rebranding. It's always challenging, but that's why I enjoy it so much. I like defining what a company looks like in its simplest forms, and working it into a cohesive collection of stationery, business cards, websites and social media, as well as any other pieces my client might need. If your business is need of a facelift or you're getting ready to start your business, I would love to talk with you about branding your company.

#3: COPYWRITING
I would like to do more of this period. Most of my clients come to me for photography or design, and I typically advise on copy. I love to write and I would love to do more than advise. It doesn't matter if it's integrated into a design project or a standalone piece. Whether its a two word tagline, or writing a whole brochure, I want to do more writing for clients.

What's on your 2018 to-do list? Are New Year's resolutions your thing, or are you more focused on goals you've already set? Whether we're breaking fresh trail, or committing to the terrain we're already exploring,

happy trails, kids.
